american higher education is undergoing major challenges and change. mr. wolff will review six areas in which these challenges are leading to new approaches and major innovation. the six areas include:1) the completion challenge; 2) the meaning of the college degree in a rapidly changing work environment; 3) the impact of technology within institutions; 4) the development of moocs and universal access to courses; 5)internationalization and international collaboration, and 6) the need for changing the models of accreditation and quality assurance to address these changes. the impact of these changes is likely to influence the future of american higher education for decades to come.
主讲人简介:
ralph wolff joined the staff of the wasc senior college and university commission in 1981 and served as its president from 1996 through august 2013. he currently serves as senior advisor. during mr. wolff's tenure as president, wasc became recognized globally as a leading innovator in accreditation. he has led revisions to accreditation standards over the past thirty years that have addressed many key issues. in 2004, he received the virginia b. smith award for innovation in higher education in recognition of his efforts to transform accreditation and quality assurance in the united states.
mr. wolff is a member of the university quality assurance international board (uqaib) in dubai, united arab emirates. he is a fellow of the world academy of art and science and a member of meridian international, a global think tank. he has served on multiple reviews of universities in hong kong as part of the teaching and learning quality process review. over the years, he has published multiple articles and book chapters on accreditation, quality assurance, distance education, and the changing role of the library.
a graduate of tufts university, mr. wolff received his jd with honors from the national law center at george washington university.
