tsinghua university is one of the earliest 24 universities accredited by the state council to offer professional mpa degrees in china in 2001.in 2013, our mpa program became the first internationally certified public management master’s program by the network of schools of public policy, affairs, and administration (naspaa) outside the united states. on july 26, 2018, the academic degrees and graduate education development center of the ministry of education announced the results of the first national professional degree assessment: the professional degree education of public administration at tsinghua university was awarded a (top 2%). in 2022, the mpa program became the first chinese mpa program to receive the naspaa reaccreditation in china.

our mpa program aims to prepare students to become public leaders who are rooted in china with a global vision and lead the country’s development and human progress. these students should inherit the tradition of patriotic devotion championed by tsinghua university and serve the society according to sppm's principle of committing to virtue and public service. facing the frontiers of china’s reform and social development, the actual needs of global governance and international development, students should master the systematic theory, knowledge, and skills of modern public administration and effectively promote organizational innovation and social change, leading the country’s development and human progress.
