on may 28, the international female leadership discussion was held in sppm, inviting over 60 female government officials from inner mongolia and international female students in sppm. it was hosted by the associate dean, ms. meng bo.
during the discussion, students exchanged thoughts on the issues of gender equality, female leadership and the balance between work and family among female employees. they all agreed that the improvement of women’s status, the protection and promotion of women’s rights and interests are the common goals around the world. one student from namibia expressed that, the female education and employment situation in developing countries have been improved significantly in recent years. another student from the uk said she had noticed the increasing number of female leaders as well as the enhanced gender equality status quo in china, which signified more recognition and support to the female leadership.
the chinese participants are all female government officials from inner mongolia province, and they are attending “tsinghua-inner mongolia female leaders’ senior public administrative seminar” in sppm now. the invited international students are from the uk, namibia, fiji, dominica, etc, and they also hold important positions in their home countries, such as in the ministry of foreign affairs and the ministry of gender, equality and child welfare.
after the meeting, part of the participants raised more discussion and took group photos. they all express that it is a good opportunity to share thoughts on female leadership in different countries and their vision have been broadened through this discussion.
